Art and nursing are interlinked, in myriad and often surprising ways. Artists have mythologised nurses, documented their experiences and stood alongside them to campaign for positive change.
The Art of Nursing explores where our perceptions of the ‘ideal nurse’ come from. How have these been influenced by the creative imaginings of artists, writers and designers? Despite chronic health service underfunding, nurses keep on going to work. Meanwhile they must grapple with their own stress and anxiety, and often face hardship or discrimination.
